They've come back!

Bull Shark Dive
Season:  Late November to early March
Max Depth:25m/ 80ft
Dive time:35min incl. safety stop
Prerequisite:Advanced diver or higher, OW diver with 50 logged dive and last dive within 12 months

Scubafreedom's first Bull Shark tour this season yesterday.

12:15pm:Meeting at a local dive shop in Centro area.  You will make a payment, fill out paperwork, receive your rental gear here.
Cute dogs might welcome you!

Before headed to the beach, we will give you dive briefing and the shark information.

We walk to the beach from the dive shop and hop on the boat! (our boat is 2nd from the right)
The water condition yesterday couldn't be better!!  No wind, no wave, so easy to get on the boat.
But we ususally have pretty strong east wind during winter and it causes wave on the beach which makes it harder for you to get on the boat. You might want to leave your massive DSLR underwater camera behind in your room ...  Point & shoot or Go Pro should be the way to go.

It is only 5 to 10 mins to get to the shark point. Very short boat ride.
So as soon as you hop on the boat, immediately set up your gear and prepare your weights. Of course, dive crew will help you out!

Back roll entry, that's the way we enter the water from this boat. Quick weight check then descent!
Some sharks could be seen from the surface yesterday!

As I mentioned earlier, the water condition was SUPER great yesterday. No wind, no wave, no current!!!
We used the moring line to descent so that my customer who was catching a cold and worried about equalizing her ear could descent no problem.

BUT,

you can use the line only when the condition is good like yesterday.
Usually Playa water has mild to strong current. It can be really hard to hold on to the line and the divers could use a lot of air already before they get down to the bottom. So we usually make free descent and swim with current then get to the bottom.

Once you reach the bottom, the divers kneel or lie on the stomach and stay still.
You just observe the sharks peacefully!  Never chase them for the sake of your photos or videos.

Be patient and wait for them coming toward you.

We found a free diver too!  The bottom is 25m/80ft!!!

Yesterday, we saw 3 sharks together at one point.
While we were sitting on the bottom within our no-deco time, the sharks swam around us pretty constantly.

After the sark diving, we took our surface break on the boat and headed to the 2nd dive site called "Shangri La"
Less than 10m/30ft very shallow easy relaxing dive.

Moray ells, Queen Angels, French Angels, Grunt fish, lobsters, flounders etc  all sorts of usual suspects of Caribbean ocean.

We got to take pictures with a cute little green turtle!!

After the 2nd dive, we came back to the beach and walked back to the dive shop.

They don't have shower room or dressing room unfortunately. You can change to your dry clothes in the restroom.

Post dive Cerveza with Amigos!!
